My Personal Review of the CIZE Workout Program

Alright, let’s talk about getting fit, losing some weight, and yes, even working out.

That’s what I had been trying to do for about a year before I decided to purchase the CIZE DVDs.

An entire year!

I had honestly tried several regular exercise programs like Couch25k and even StrongLifts5x5. From cardio to weights to special diets, I was seriously almost over it. Frustration was getting the better of me. Even as I browsed forum after forum and blog article after blog article, I felt like I was drowning in someone else’s variation of getting fit, but without results.

Does it really have to be that hard?!

And there was so much on the Internet to read, yet at the same time, just about all of it felt like the same tired routines that got me nowhere.

“What am I doing wrong?” I thought.

So I’ll admit it right off: when I saw CIZE’s promise to be “the end of exercise,” I was skeptical. I’m sure you can relate to that.

Dancing to get fit? It didn’t seem like it could work all that well.

But while everyone seems to have some weird pitch or silly gimmick, when I watched Shaun T (CIZE’s instructor) on YouTube, I thought about how he seemed like a real guy, fit and lean, but he was having fun.

And initially, what he was saying made sense. Instead of touting some super ultimate amazing exercise program secret that would be magic, he was saying something far different: forget exercise, you’re already doing what you need to do in your regular life.

Needless to say, I was intrigued enough to try it out. Well, after a few months, I have to share my review.

Here it goes…

What I Liked Best About CIZE

After about a year of going nowhere, I really dreaded working out. I mean dreaded like you wouldn’t believe. I thought nothing could fix this.

So when the CIZE DVDs came, before I even unwrapped them, I wondered if this was going to be the same. Still, when I looked at them and saw Shaun T, I was reminded of the video I watched on YouTube.

It might sound really simple, but in my mind, this is the first part that worked really well. I hadn’t even gotten started yet, but Shaun T had surprisingly already pumped me up a little bit, caught my attention, and given me that little kick of motivation I really needed when most everything else I had tried had failed.

This was big for me.

I couldn’t start another program that I felt obligated to do, I wanted something that made me actually get up and care.

The next day I got around to opening up the DVDs and popping them in. It honestly was like no other program I had ever experienced.

And this is the second big thing that worked for me. Instead of making me feel awkward (like I half expected) or making me second guess what I was doing, CIZE took a totally different approach.

I’m not much of a dancer, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. How could someone teach me of all people to dance?

Instead of jacked up or overly-enthusiastic instructors trying to convince me to do some outrageous moves, Shaun T keeps things simple and helps you to see the truth about being fit: you’re probably already doing so much of this in your life, natural things, but you’ve never thought about putting them all together into a sequence.

But once you do put them together, you start to see that you do in fact have a natural rhythm to your movements, and best of all, you start realizing that that rhythm can be brought out to get you sweating very quickly.

By the end of the first session, I felt invigorated, fit, and like I was enjoying myself. I felt like I had really worked my whole body!

There were no weird guys looking at me like at the gym or at the club. I was just dancing, having fun… and getting the workout of my life at the same time.

Here’s a few more things that I enjoy about CIZE:

  • Modern music with a beat that is chosen to make you feel like moving.
  • I can do all of it right from my home. Afterward, I towel off and take a shower in the comfort of my house.
  • 4 weeks. That’s all it took for me to drop a good deal of weight without ever feeling like I was even working at it.
  • While it’s fun, there’s no silly sugarcoating. Shaun T is upfront that it’s going to be challenging. But he keeps it moving along, so that you hardly even notice.

A Few Pros and Cons

I want to make sure I give a good balanced review of this program. You read a lot of other reviews, and they’re either rant and rave or complain and complain.

Let’s cut through that a bit. Here’s what I found:

Pros

  • 30 day money-back guarantee. I feel like any company that is confident in their product will give you a guarantee like this.
  • It was affordable. Many other programs I read on the Internet mention costly machines or devices. Who buys that stuff? CIZE was 3 payments a month of $19.95 and the shipping and handling. That’s it.
  • Well choreographed dance routines. You honestly feel like you’re in a music video, which is really awesome.
  • 6 courses that progress you through. This is a huge plus in my book. Step-by-step, you get each move, which means you never feel like you’re doing something you aren’t sure of. It starts out with “Crazy 8s” and Timbaland and moves on to Full out and Destiny’s Child, until finally, you’re on the 6th course, dancing all out to Sia’s Chandelier.
  • A lot of awesome additional materials like a getting started guide that’s informative, a meal plan with easy recipes, and a calendar to keep up with your progress.
  • 24/7 support online.
  • Ordering from the website was quick and hassle-free.
  • Shaun is clearly comfortable teaching people how to dance and get fit at the same time. He has a great personality and a long history in the dance community.

Cons

  • Waiting for the next set of DVDs to come out. I’m looking forward to it, so I can learn some more moves.
  • I’d like to see more of Shaun’s story included in the information that comes with the DVDs. He’s clearly a talented and motivational person with experience. It would be great to read more.

And what you all probably want to know most: My Results!

I can’t finish this review without mentioning my results.

I’m happy to say that I dropped 15lbs in about a month, feeling like I could dance for hours.

The weight loss is only a small part of it though.

Another positive aspect is motivation! I’m very motivated to dance every day and continue with the program. No other exercise program I have done in the past actually made me look forward to working out like CIZE does. There really is no other core or cardio workout like CIZE.

After so many other programs, I almost can’t believe how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time. And without any crazy supplements or wacky tips, just straightforward dance moves and the easy to follow meal plan they included.

Lastly, I finally feel like I can go to a party or club and dance without looking like a fool! I know this is meant to be a workout program, and it is, but as a side effect you learn a lot of dance moves as well. Now you don’t have to be one of the only people at the party who doesn’t know how to dance.

So if you can’t tell by now. I really love this program and I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

Best Place to Buy CIZE?

The only place I know where you can get the whole program is directly from Beachbody’s official website.

By buying through their site you get the best deal. Along with the dance workouts they will throw in a getting started guide, a meal plan, some workout calendars so you can plan your workouts, a bonus ab workout, 24/7 support, and the money back guarantee all for one low price.

You can even choose to do 3 monthly installments of $19.95 instead of paying for the whole thing up front if you prefer.

So what are you waiting for?! Head to Beachbody’s site and order your copy of CIZE. You won’t be disappointed, trust me.

5 Tips to Stop Drinking Soda and Speed Up Fat Loss

water vs soda

water vs sodaOnce you’ve decided to live a healthy lifestyle, you’ll start to notice that you’re paying more attention to many different areas in your life and how they affect your fitness level. Many people report that after even a couple good sessions of working out with programs like CIZE that they suddenly start thinking about their diet, their morning routines, almost everything.

Well, it’s perfectly reasonable to also look at how much soda you’re drinking throughout the week and to wonder how it’s impacting your fitness goals. The facts about soda have been hammered to death, so instead, we’re focusing on how you can kick the soda habit for your health.

1. Cold Turkey Might Not Be Best

If you try to completely cut out soda from Day 1, you very well might go through caffeine withdrawal and a sugar deficit that will leave your body screaming. Believe it or not, if you’ve been drinking soda for years, your body has become very use to that fact. While you might be able to quit cold turkey, we recommend cutting back slowly so that you’re body gets used to the change.

2. Set Goals for Yourself

Getting off soda is much easier when you set weekly goals for yourself. Gradually cut back the number of sodas over the course of a month, with the goal being to get yourself down to less than 1 can a day. Once you hit that goal, it becomes much easier to start skipping days and forego the drink entirely.

3. Avoid Places that Serve Soda

It seems like almost every restaurant has soda on the menu these days. But many more healthy cafes and shops specialize in having better choices that don’t include soda. Even bringing your own lunch to work can mean that you’re avoiding those places where soda is the biggest temptation.

4. Keep a Water Bottle

One great way to cut back on soda is to always have your water bottle with you. By ensuring that you always have something to drink, you’ll be able to skip the soda machine when thirst really hits. You’ll also be making sure that you’re properly hydrated throughout the day, which is always a good thing.

5. Go with these Drink Alternatives

In addition to plain water, there are also some good alternatives to soda that are flavorful and delicious, but don’t pack in the sugar or calories.

One that we love is a sparkling juice and water combo, where you use soda water, a bit of lemonade or orange juice, and water to create a lower calorie cocktail.

You can also try simple lemon or cucumber slices in water for an even lower calorie drink.

Also consider taking unsweet tea or black coffee for something that packs a lot of flavor, but not a lot of the other stuff. Once you put these tips in place, you’ll find that kicking the soda habit is only a matter of time and you will feel much better for it.

Choosing the Best Workout Clothing to Wear While Doing CIZE

For staying fit and healthy, a central component to your goal will be choosing the right workout clothing. While you’re burning the calories and having fun, your experience will be even better when you make choices for your clothing that guarantee maximum comfort and flexibility.

Especially when it comes to healthy programs like CIZE that get you moving, these two elements are even more important.

To make sure you’re on the right track, we’ve put together this article on selecting the best clothes for your sessions.

Make Sure They Fit Correctly First

The biggest thing we see people doing, especially when they first get into working out, is choosing clothing that is either too big or too small for their frame. It might seem like a harmless issue at first, but in reality, if the clothing is too big, you’re more likely to get something caught or to trip on the excess fabric.

Also, if the outfit is too large, you’ll feel uncomfortable and weird. At the same time though, clothing that is too small, but feel constricting. Fitted clothing is always a plus for programs like CIZE, but you still want to ensure that the size is appropriate for your body for maximum enjoyment.

Choose Materials that Wick

Many workout outfits are made from materials that automatically pull away the sweat from your body. These fabrics are ideal for exercising in as you work up a good sweat burning those calories and getting fit.

One option is to go with clothing made from polypropylene as opposed to cotton. Because cotton traps the sweat from your body, it can also weigh you down as you work out, while making you feel dirty and grimy.

Choose the Right Ones for the Weather

Now, this one isn’t completely necessary when you do CIZE, since you’ll be working out in the comfort of your own home. However, many users of the program also go on to do other activities as they get fit, so it’s always a good idea to choose outfits that are appropriate for your climate.

That way, even if decide to take a quick jog now that you’re getting fit or even to go cycling, for example, you’ll be ready for the weather you encounter. In addition to our other tips, your workout clothing will be exactly what you need.

5 Tips for Keeping the Weight Off and Staying Healthy

Fat loss tips

Fat loss tipsWhen you’re trying to be fit and lose some weight, you also have to keep in mind that the weight will need to stay off. Really, losing it is only half the battle when it comes to being healthy. But it doesn’t have to be a chore or a challenge to do so. So I wanted to share some easy ways for you to keep that weight off. Here’s my top suggestions:

Weigh yourself weekly

This let’s you keep an eye on where your weight is. Though it may fluctuate somewhat overtime, if you start to really put on the pounds, you can make any necessary changes quickly before things get out of hand.

Stick with the exercising

If you’re like many people, you lost the weight by putting in the work. Don’t stop now! Making a habit of it will make it a lot easier to keep it off, especially if you’re doing fun stuff like CIZE.

Plan your meals

Instead of just downing whatever’s around at the moment, it’s important to take the time to plan out your meals. This will ensure that you aren’t caught out while you’re starving and resort to eating candy bars or other unhealthy items.

Eat regularly and well

It might come as a surprise, but I also recommend eating regularly. This is because sometimes some people try to put off eating so that they can keep their weight off. But this is a bad idea, because you’ll find yourself so hungry that you’ll eat almost anything. As long as you’re planning your meals to be healthy, there’s nothing wrong with having three good meals a day.

Feel good

This one might sound simple enough, but in my opinion, it’s really important. Once you’ve worked the weight off, and you’ve gotten fit, it’s essential that you feel good about what you’ve accomplished. Doing this step will help you remember your goals and keep sight of why you started in the first place. A big part of being healthy is feeling good, and you’ve earned the right to feel that way.
